Experience
CFA Institute
RemoteDirector, Learning Technology
January 2025 – PresentSenior Manager, Learning Technology
May 2023 – December 2024- Played a central role in the enterprise-wide LMS platform migration from BenchPrep to Canvas, contributing to platform vision, supporting the migration roadmap, and helping deliver all Certificate Programs and CFA Program on time, on scope, and within budget.
- Scaled live course operations nearly 1,000%, from 55 courses in FY2024 to 600+ scheduled in FY2025, by collaborating with engineering teams to design automated course creation and content deployment workflows.
- Led technology vendor evaluation and selection across 6+ platforms, assessing integration capabilities, accessibility compliance, AI functionality, cost, and architectural fit. Resulted in $259K in annual cost savings through strategic platform selection while improving assessment capabilities and learner experience.
- Built a custom in-house solution that eliminated the need for a $250K vendor engagement, demonstrating ability to assess build-vs-buy trade-offs and deliver cost-effective alternatives.
- Managed a team of 4 learning technologists responsible for course production, platform operations, and technical integrations. Oversaw hiring, onboarding, and professional development while expanding team capabilities to support a rapidly growing operational footprint.
- Partnered extensively with data engineers, data analysts, software engineers, and product managers to deliver learning technology initiatives, from defining enrollment automation requirements with engineering teams, to consulting data engineers on learner data pipeline architecture, to advising product managers on platform capabilities and technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Led AI architecture and strategy conversations across the organization, evaluating emerging AI technologies and developing actionable recommendations for AI-powered assessment, content tooling, and learner experiences.
- Led the Canvas data analytics workstream, partnering across the institution to architect new data pipelines for learner analytics, informing program strategy through Tableau dashboards and ad hoc reporting.
- Designed and developed custom software applications to address niche business needs: built a QA evaluation tool enabling quality review teams to efficiently assess CFA program assessments in-platform, directly enabling on-time program launch; collaborated with Instructure to deliver a custom performance/progression dashboard and practice assessment tool for the CFA program.
- Designed and developed a generative AI course in Canvas LMS with embedded AI prompting capabilities, allowing learners to interact with LLMs directly within lesson content.
- Presented at InstructureCon two consecutive years: “AI: What Do I Even Do With It? Sparking Curiosity and Exploring Considerations in Learning” (2025); “Professional Learning in Canvas: Forging a Path into Uncharted Territory” (2024).
- Led research, evaluation, and implementation of emerging technologies including coding platforms, AI integrations, and LTI tools, conducting vendor demos, VPAT accessibility analysis, and technical viability assessments.
- Championed accessibility standards across all learning platforms, conducting hands-on audits of course content and assessments, evaluating new technologies for WCAG/Section 508 compliance, and providing guidance to cross-functional teams on accessible design practices.
